Rune Guard has a two-track rank system: the org-wide membership structure, and the in-game Star Citizen certification tiers. Here's how both work.
These are your membership ranks within Rune Guard as an organization. They determine your access, voting rights, and standing in the community.
| Rank | Description | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Recruit | Entry level for new joins. Focus on onboarding, activity, and basic participation. | Join Discord & RSI org |
| Enlisted | Full member rank. Receives full access to all organizational resources and events. | Must earn L(2) or supported game equivalent |
| Guardsman | Dedicated Member. Can create Rune Guard chapters in other games. Org Moderators are also here. | Special promotion guidelines listed below |
This is the only rank that requires a formal process:
Any Guardsman can volunteer for org moderator roles.
Inactivity over 6 months triggers auto-bot demotion from Enlisted to Recruit.
Inactive Guardsmen for 1 year are automatically demoted to Enlisted by bot.
Rune Guard has a soft banner system. Due the way we share resources and depend on the skills of each other, we have created a system that sets expectations:
| Situation | Enlisted | Guardsman |
|---|---|---|
| Non-matching informal or formal event | Acceptable | Acceptable |
| Matching informal event | Questionable | Unacceptable |
| Matching formal event | Unacceptable | Unacceptable |
| Time-Locked Events | Case by Case | Unacceptable |
| Plays another game with another group | Acceptable | Acceptable |
| Plays a Rune Guard Chaptered Game but not with Rune Guard | Questionable | Case by Case |
"Matching" = the activity matches the member's playstyle (eg, pvp vs pve).
Any Guardsman can lead a chapter of Rune Guard in another game — they just need to be a moderator. Chapters must align with the org's ethos.
